The hunt for ghosts
Speak to the guard at the entrance to Cosmo Canyon village and he confirms the threat hovering over the valley. The last location where Gi spectra were seen was in the northern part of the Cosmo region, southwest of the northernmost transmission tower.

Approach the abandoned cart and the Gi spirits will take possession of Melankikis. Get rid of them with quick combos and wind-based attacks. The specters will flee, so follow them.
A few meters further on, two Sahuagins will be possessed. Focus on Frozen Chains or even ice spells to quickly end the fight.
New escape from the specters but same enemies, four Sahuagins will face you. If possible, an Extra-Ice coupled with an Area of Effect would quickly weaken everyone and thus eliminate one or two entry Sahuagins with a Shock.
At the end of the fight, the specters prepare to possess one last monster. Don't hesitate to rest on a cushion at the chocobo stop to the north, if necessary, then go and see the specters. The latter always confuse Red XIII with his father Seto, and their thirst for revenge is embodied in the form of a Kholodiceros, a large horned chap vulnerable to lightning.

As the fight progresses, you will obviously increase the Rhino Shock gauge. When his HP drops a little too much, he uses Imperturbability. He then recovers his life by emptying his Shock gauge. To prepare for this, keep some ATB bars in reserve. When Kholodiceros activates Imperturbability, quickly throw three offensive skills at him to interrupt him.
Also, he briefly enters Fragility after certain attacks like Devastating Drill, Ravaging Charge or Mega Fire. Basically resistant to physical attacks with Shield, he will end up casting Spectral Bulwark which gives him the Mirror effect. Unless you dispel the effect, avoid casting spells.
Continue until you Shock him, and probably get much closer to the end of the fight.
In case of victory, the Gi specters agree to listen to Red XIII and teach him the history between them and Seto. Your canine companion then vows to find a solution for their people. As a thank you, the specters entrust you a summoner's amulet. Bugenhagen then arrives to support Red XIII.
The quest ends and you also leave with 1700 Exp, 10 Team Exp, affinity increase with Red XIII.
