Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Set to Receive Significant Performance Upgrade

Wisely biding its time, the Nintendo Switch 2 is being talked about again through its technical sheet. This time it is a question of a truly supercharged memory.

New reports have recently emerged regarding the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. According to them, the Japanese manufacturer's future console could benefit from various components from Samsung to display a clear improvement in performance compared to its venerable predecessor.

The Nintendo Switch 2 powered by Samsung

Nintendo seems to want to pull out all the stops when it comes to its highly anticipated Switch 2. Seven years after the Japanese giant's first best-selling iteration, the technological leap should be enormous for its little sister. This would be partly ensured by Samsung, the Korean juggernaut. The chaebol has carved out a prominent place for itself in the components market, particularly with regard to SSDs and memory. It is precisely in this area that he will notably provide his support to Nintendo.

The Switch 2 should in fact, according to the very well informed Doctre81, feature Samsung's 5th generation V-NAND memory. This promises speeds of up to 1.4 GB per second. This would therefore be a huge boost compared to Nintendo's previous console. With a much faster memory, performance should definitely be there. However, we can regret stopping at the 5th generation. This is indeed getting old, with Samsung already working on the 9th and 10th generation of its flagship memory. In addition to this still substantial improvement in its technical sheet, it is also said that the Nintendo Switch 2 will feature an OLED screen from the Korean giant, which also occupies a leading position in this market.

Technological improvements at all levels

In addition to support from Samsung, the Nintendo Switch 2 should also count, like its big sister, on that of NVIDIA thanks to its T239 chip. With this in mind, the console should benefit from the famous DLSS for even better performance. The magic word 4K could finally be within Nintendo's reach thanks to upscaling technology via machine-learning.

Another magic word could be part of the Switch 2's vocabulary: ray tracing, once again thanks to the NVIDIA chip it will embed. Not to mention being on par with an Xbox Series X or PS5 Pro, such technological improvements certainly make it a promising console for fans. Nintendo still needs to decide to officially present this highly anticipated new version of its best-seller. And unfortunately there is little chance of that happening this summer…
