Where is the Nintendo Switch 2?

Many players are waiting for a Nintendo Switch 2 or a pro version of the hybrid console, but on the Nintendo side, still nothing. However, the firm has very frequently communicated about its roadmap, always omitting to talk about its future machine. The firm prefers to make the most of the current Switch, which still performs very well despite its age. However, the fans and the group know it: this has had its day and we will have to look to the future. Since last year, developers have been particularly pressed for time, rumors and a slew of reports talking about this future innovation. Last summer, the media VGC even claimed that some lucky journalists had had hands on what we call the Nintendo Switch 2. There was talk then of an officialization, or even of'a release in spring 2024, but as you might have guessed, this date fell through. However, fans do not lose hope, even if they prefer to turn to old models. This discovery shows us that Nintendo has made a lot of progress.

A single console

While everyone is getting impatient around the Nintendo Switch 2, some are digging through old reports from the FCC (American Federal Communications Commission). This Internet user came across an old visual of the organization, which presented us with a Nintendo Switch Lite, completely black. If it provokes a reaction, it is particularly because this color does not exist in the catalog. Only gray comes close to its model. Besides, even if it looks similar, it's not the collector's edition with the Pokémon Dialga & Palkia either. In fact, no matter how much you search and search, we will never be able to have this console, because it was never released. However, it is not a fake. It's a little more special than that, because it's actually a dev kit.

This edition was designed for developers, but also for regulatory bodies, such as the FCC, so that they can validate or not the arrival on the market of the Nintendo Switch Lite. On X, many deplore that this black version is not available. “If it was released, I would buy it,” explains one Internet user. Others only regret the color of the joy-cons, which could have been much more stylish, according to them. “Probably a similar situation to the first Switch dev kits having all black joy-cons, as opposed to the gray ones that were eventually released,” one user noted. This color has been the talk of the town today, but unfortunately you won't be able to get it. On the other hand, if the Nintendo Switch 2 is well in development, fans can surely look forward to an all-black edition. On the other hand, we do not know if the lite will have an heir.
