But there is no point in rushing things and Sony Pictures would be wrong to do so. The new trilogy with Tom Holland and Zendaya is the biggest hit the company has seen in a (very) long time. The last episode, Spider Man No Way Home, grossed over $1.9 billion at the worldwide box office. But despite this huge success, fans are campaigning for the return of another Spider-Man.

Sam Raimi speaks again on a new Spider-Man film
Tom Holland managed to put himself in the shoes of one of the greatest superheroes of all time and somehow make us forget the previous actors. But despite the love for the new trilogy, some would love to see a new Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, All the Way to Hell) directing. Will it happen? “ Well I haven't heard of it yet [ndlr : en réponse à la rumeur sur le retour de Raimi derrière la caméra]. I've read about it, but I'm not working on it yet » he declared in a very recent interview with CBR.
But during a new interview with The Wrap, Sam Raimi was asked again on the subject. Are there discussions for a “Spider-Man 4” with Tobey Maguire in the lead role? “I don’t have anything planned, but I would love to”. Even if there really doesn't seem to be anything in the pipeline, the iconic director still has a rather well-defined vision of what he could do. “I would have to talk with Tobey and the writers to determine what his personal development would be in this episode. I think if we were to make a fourth Spider-Man movie, we would probably have to figure out Tobey Maguire's journey, his character, and the obstacles he would have to overcome to grow as a person. And I hope the villain would be chosen based on these obstacles” (via The Wrap).
