On the Steam platform Hades 2 entered early access. This means that the game is currently only available exclusively for the PC. It is currently unclear whether Hades 2 will come onto the market for consoles at some point. It hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but the predecessor was also released for consoles, so we can hope.
Hades 2 has just had its early access release on Steam on May 6, 2024 celebrated. Just a few days later, the game breaks a new mark and reaches its latest all-time player high.

Good start to early access for Hades 2
After Hades 2 was available on Steam, player numbers were pretty positive until late into the night:

The first day of release (or the first night) was quite successful in early access. The all-time player high in German time was around four a.m. after the release. After 79,276 players active at the same time things went downhill, at some point even the biggest fans have to sleep.
Hades 2: New all-time high only reached on the second day
Although the first release evening or night usually triggers a particularly high level of interest, with Hades 2 it was the next day the all-time high on Steam could beat. The 100,000 mark was broken with 103,567 simultaneously active players.

After the minimum number of players were counted on May 7, 2024 at 10 a.m. (German time), things only went uphill from there. From 50,000, the number climbed to 60,000, then to 70,000, breaking the previous all-time high around 2 p.m.
Then it continued with 80,000, 90,000 and at 4 p.m. German time 100,000 were reached for the first time. The game stayed in this area for several hours, so the second day of release was definitely more successful than the first.
Today (May 8th) we are curious to see how the numbers will develop in the evening and at night and whether Hades 2 might break a record again becomes.
Almost exclusively positive reviews for Hades 2 on Steam
By the way, not only are the player numbers quite pleasing, but also the ratings. On Steam there are over 11,500 positive and only around 350 negative reviews. Percentage wise 97 percent compared to three percent.

With a bit of luck, you can play Hades 2 completely free before its release.
Hades 2 is also currently the 11th most-played game on Steam and in first place in current Steam sales. The fans are already excited about Hades 2, even though it is still an early phase of the game. The early access phase should will not be completed until the end of 2024 at the earliest so that the final version 1.0 of Hades will then be available not before 2025 will come onto the market.
