The cult-favorite and comedic detective series has arrived on Netflix

Series Psych has just been added to the Netflix catalog. Shawn and Gus' investigations are finally available for streaming. Eight seasons of good laughs on the program.

There are many detective series in which we see an individual with exceptional abilities joining the police to offer their talents and, thus, help solve crimes. This is what Shawn Spencer will do, thanks to his psychic powers allowing him to spot a greater number of clues than average.

Except that Shawn is lying: he has no psychological predisposition. He is not a medium at all, but nevertheless has an exceptional ability to spot the most useful clues to solving investigations. This is how he will succeed in deceiving the police; this, with the help of his best friend, Gus.

Of course, mishaps are at the heart of Psych: Investigator in spite of himself (the title in French only imperfectly transcribes the plot, since he is an investigator… of his own free will). Long unavailable in streaming, the series produced by USA Network has just discreetly joined the Netflix catalog. A good excuse to see it again or discover it — you will not be disappointed with the trip.

Psychit's 8 seasons of absurd humor

The complete series having been added, including the 8 seasons of the series, broadcast from 2006 to 2014, which are in the catalog; i.e. 121 episodes to follow, which end with a real ending.

Psych is not really a detective series like the others: it is completely crazy. It draws its success from its absurd humor – between situational gags and jokes galore. It's hard not to smile.

But she still manages to pull the strings of real investigations in each episode – especially since we get caught up in the crazy methods used by Shawn to pass himself off as a medium. Small doses of emotion are sprinkled more and more throughout the seasons, in particular thanks to a budding love story and a growing tenderness towards the characters.

You understand, Psych simply triggers a colossal dose of good humor. Especially since the comic duo, formed by James Rhoday and Dule Hill, is completed by the police inspector played by a Timothy Omundson that you don't forget: Lassiter. He himself is accompanied by Juliet O'Hara, for whom Maggie Lawson always turns out to be funnier.

Added without any promotion at the beginning of May, Psych managed to find a place in the top 10 of the platform. No wonder: after its end, fans couldn't say goodbye to the series. This allowed the creator to produce several films, via the Peacock streaming service. These feature films are unfortunately not available in France; but if the series does well on Netflix, perhaps the streaming service will decide to acquire them.
