Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble unveils Battle and Multiplayer modes – Nintendo Switch

Although the Super Monkey Ball license is playable in SOLO, it is always nice to be able to compete in multiplayer, and the next opus Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble will be no exception. While waiting for released June 25, 2024 on Nintendo Switch, SEGA of America has just revealed new information on the multiplayer and Battle modes which we let you discover below.

It's time to fight!
Are you ready to fight and avoid getting bananas? Get ready as SEGA® reveals the first details of the crazy antics found in Banana Rumble Battle Mode!

Up to 2 players locally or up to 16 players online can play together and compete in 5 different game modes. Plus, no matter the game mode, players can choose up to 15 bots (for a total of up to 16 players) to join the action!

Race
Race against other players and reach the goal before them, but be careful! If you fall off the level, you will have to start again from the last checkpoint you reached. Expect lots of fun and surprising obstacles that will keep you on your toes!

Banana hunt
The goal of the banana hunt is simple: collect as many bananas as possible! Stay on your guard to spot the cloud of bananas that appears randomly and rains bunches of bananas. In the last 30 seconds of a match, Frenzy mode will trigger and banana bunches will appear everywhere, so take the opportunity to score a bunch of points before the timer runs out!

Ba-BOOM!
Pass the bomb to your opponents and quickly roll away from them! If you are not holding a bomb at the end of a round, you will earn points. Whoever has the most points after 5 rounds wins!

Rush to the goal
In this team-based game mode, your objective is to drive through the goals to earn points, while working together with your teammates to beat the opposing team. At the end of a match, each team will receive points for each goal matching their color, so don't sell the banana peel until you've killed it!

smash robot
Destroy the robots! Two teams compete by hitting giant robots. The damage you deal depends on your character's weight and your movement speed. The team with the most points at the end of the match wins!

In each of these modes, players will encounter item boxes. Pass through one of them to receive one of the many items it contains. These items include banana peels to slide an opponent, a bat to push them back, a missile to send them flying, and a heavy ball that slows down anyone it hits. There are even items exclusive to certain characters, so stay tuned!

In addition to these competitive options, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble's Adventure Mode allows up to 4 players to play in local or online co-op mode, giving them even more options to have fun together!
