Walkthrough for A Glimmer of Hope in Dragon's Dogma 2

The quest A glimmer of hope will be unlocked automatically upon arrival in the Left Behind World.

After choosing the true ending of the game, you will find yourself in the world left behind. Collect your pawn as part of the quest Homecoming then go to the location of the temple of the depths. You can easily access it from Bakbattahl since the sea has completely disappeared in this area.

The ruins are therefore no longer submerged and it is possible to explore areas formerly under water. You will also be able to find many chests that were inaccessible until now.

Arriving at the heart of the ruins, you will find Rothais which emits a blue glow. Approach him to trigger a conversation with him as well as the prophetess Luz. The latter then explains to you that to save the inhabitants of this world, you will have to lead them to the temple of the depths. Indeed, it is perhaps the only place that could escape the looming apocalypse. You will obtain 2 Transstones.

If you haven't yet unlocked the Illusionist and Mage-Knight classes, you can talk to Luz and Sigurd who are both at the ruins.

From this moment on, you will have to go to each of the countries visited throughout your adventure to convince their leader to evacuate the area. And this, before their territory is wiped off the map. Indeed, all places marked with a ray of red light will gradually disappear.

You will therefore have to go to each of these places to save the inhabitants there. To do this, you can use the different Portacrystals which are now positioned in key locations on the map. Especially since the Transstones will be found much more easily in the world left behind.

Be careful, however, to limit going to sleep as much as possible to recover your max life or to pass the time. Indeed, the past nights will result in the destruction of one of the marked areas, even if you have not yet saved the inhabitants.

So, you will have to try to rescue:

  • Elves in the Holy Forest
  • The people of Harve
  • The people of Vernworth
  • The inhabitants of Bakbattahl
  • Soldiers at the volcanic island hot springs
  • The pawns trapped in the excavation site

This will have the effect of unlocking quests in some of the locations you go to. Note that it is better to have completed the quests specific to each region before the point of no return to facilitate their evacuation. Note that by helping all the inhabitants, you will be able to have access to different class masters and it will be possible for you to obtain classes such as archer-mage or conqueror without carrying out quests.

On site, in addition to allowing the inhabitants to reach the ruins of the temple of the depths, you can choose to activate the red rays with the reinforced Divine Scourge. After that, you will have to fight the creature that will appear.

Once all the rays of red light have disappeared, a new one will appear at the ruins of the temple of the depths. You will need to activate it using the Reinforced Divine Scourge to trigger the arrival of an ultimate dragon.

A cutscene with end credits will play, but once on the dragon's back, you will regain control of your character. You will have to progress along the creature's back to try to reach the illuminated area. The dragon will eventually knock you off its wing. You will have to resume your progress towards the glow while avoiding the tentacles that are chasing you. When the dragon starts breathing fire at you, you will have to take advantage of the thorns on its wings to protect yourself.
