Red Dead Redemption 2 in 8K with Realistic Shaders

red dead redemption 2 in 8k

Although Red Dead Redemption 2 was released over two years ago and we’ve seen tons of cutscenes and screenshots during that time, the game never ceases to take your breath away. So far, I come across examples that highlight how Rockstar is bypassing the gaming industry in creating unique worlds.

Over the past couple of months, the GTA Workshop YouTube channel has posted a couple of RDR2 videos shot on an RTX 3090 graphics card. These videos are recorded in 8K resolution, with ultra-graphics settings and a Photorealistic Reshade Mod.

Just see for yourself, because trying to describe it in words is pointless.

Seeing this, I have no doubts that the gaming industry will achieve absolute verisimilitude in graphics in the next 20-30 years. Even if with each generation the little things consume more and more power, it is not a question of “if” we achieve a realistic virtual world, but “when” it will happen.

How to Install:

  1. Download the mod from Nexusmods
  2. Extract to any location
  3. Install it into your RdR2 folder where the RDR2.exe is
  4. Download Photorealistic Reshade and put the .ini into the same RDR2 folder
  5. Activate it in-game with home(pos1)  and select Photorealistic.ini
