PS5 update 24.03-09.20.00 at a glance

A central point of the new PS5 update is the game help, which has been expanded to include a function: This will also be possible in the future PS5 users contributethat other players are helped over difficult areas.

An autopilot, as recently described in a patent, so it still doesn't exist. However, Sony would like to incorporate the community's videos into the PS5 game help in the future. Below is the corresponding excerpt from the changelog:

  • Players can participate in Community Game Help by agreeing to have their gameplay video automatically recorded and added to the feature after review.
  • To agree, PS5 players go to Settings > Recordings and broadcasts > Recordings > Automatic recordings > Community game help and then choose Participate out of.
  • Consent can be revoked at any time.

Thanks to community game help, we can expect more advice in the future, at least in supported games. A PS Plus membership is not necessary for community contributions.

Remote play status can be hidden in the future

Another change that became a part of the console with the new PS5 update concerns remote play. This allows the persistent message “Remote Play connected” to be hidden in the options during a session.

  • Switches to Settings > system > Remote play and activated Hide remote play connection status.

The other points in the changelog are of a more general nature and do not go into further detail. This is what it says in conclusion:

  • We have improved the performance and stability of the system software.
  • We've improved messaging and usability on some screens.

As usual, the update is around 1 GB in size and can be initiated in the PS5 settings.
