Stellar Blade, the next big PS5 exclusive which promises to be quite crazy, speaks through its director. A developer who sees far and has ambitions.
The PS5 is on fire right now with action games that challenge gamers, like the addictive TPS Helldivers 2. If you prefer to fight alone, Rise of the Ronin, a mid-level beat'em all path between Nioh and Ghost of Tsushima, has been available exclusively for PlayStation 5 since March 22, 2024. The Japanese manufacturer is not going to calm down and Korea is going to pull out all the stops with Stellar Blade. A game that became known for the plasticity of its heroine, but not only that.

You take a zest of NieR Automata, mix it with a pinch of Bayonetta, and you normally get Stellar Blade. At least that's the recipe that Korean studio Shift Up seems to have followed. First class influences which are felt in the heroine, fluid and very well choreographed fights, and perhaps even the story… But this last point will be to be verified when the title is released on the 26th. April 2024 on PS5. A project which obviously benefited from more comprehensive help from PlayStation throughout development. Rightly or wrongly, we will see in a few weeks.
If the success of Stellar Blade is there, then there is perhaps hope of seeing a franchise born, or at least a sequel. In an interview with Famitsu, Hyung-Tae Kim, director of the game and CEO of Shift Up, indicated that a sequel is entirely possible (via Gamesradar). But for this to happen, players must respond when Stellar Blade 1 is released. A second episode which, if it sees the light of day, could say more about Eve… and her age or even about her allies . Unless he's bluffing, to ensure sales capable of financing a sequel, Hyung-Tae Kim may already have ideas on the storyline.
