Survival game fans “Green Hell” have two reasons to be happy these days. The responsible development studio Creepy Jar has not only announced a new high point for the title, but has also commented on the future of the franchise.

How successful is Green Hell?

“Green Hell” made its debut on PC in August 2018. The starting signal for the early access phase was given at that time, with the release version following almost exactly a year later. In 2021, the survival game was also released for the PS4, among others and enjoyed great popularity on all platforms. This is proven not least by the latest report from the Polish developer Creepy Jar.

As the team has now announced, “Green Hell” recently reached an incredible and important milestone: to date, the survival game has sold more than five million copies across platforms. This is a remarkable result and once again underlines the great success. This is not only good news in itself, but also has a very positive consequence for the fans.

Will there be a Green Hell 2?

In the same breath as the announcement of the milestone, Creepy Jar confirmed that work on “Green Hell 2” has already begun. According to initial information, the team is currently working on determining the general direction of the survival successor. It appears that the first concepts for the new game are available and are now awaiting further development.

However, no further details are known yet. This is not surprising, after all, “Green Hell 2” is still in a very early phase of development. There is neither information about the basic story nor about possible gameplay innovations. A release date has not yet been set. It will certainly be a few years before the survival game appears, but it is unlikely to happen before 2026. A PS5 version of the first “Green Hell” is also under development.
