play5 06/24 with cover story for Rise of the Ronin

With the Nioh games and Wo Long, Team Ninja recently ventured into Souls-style role-playing games, while for Rise of the Ronin they took open-world RPGs as their model. In our big test, we'll clarify whether the Assassin's Creed with a Far East setting awaits us here, which fans of the series have been longing for for years, and where the title still has its weaknesses. Of course, we also had our cover story from the last issue in the test: Dragon's Dogma 2. With the complete version, it once again exceeded our already high expectations and turned out to be a real, decidedly classic role-playing highlight.

Fans had to wait almost 25 years for Outcast: A New Beginning, the sequel to the then groundbreaking voxel sci-fi adventure. In the test we will now tell you whether the wait was worth it and how much has changed since then. Fans of the Mana series have been waiting for a new part for not quite that long, but “only” 18 years – and this wait will soon be over, because Visions of Mana, the fifth main part of the series, is finally scheduled to appear in the summer. We've already been able to play the lovingly designed Square Enix JRPG and tell you what we experienced. And since we're still not done with the role-playing games at this point: Kingdom Come: Deliverance is also due to have a successor this year – we have initial information about the second excursion into the Bohemian Middle Ages.
