There are more and more indications that the media series about the transfer of Robert Lewandowski will soon come to an end. As reported by the “Bild” daily, the captain of the Polish national team was about to inform the Bayern Munich authorities that he would not extend his contract. The reports were confirmed on Saturday by Hasan Salihamidzić. Although the 33-year-old is determined to transfer to FC Barcelona, it still does not mean that the Bavarians will agree to the striker’s departure this summer. As reported by “Sport1”, the authorities of the German club are waiting for an offer from FC Barcelona and if it will amount to EUR 35-40 million, they will let the Pole go.
Łukasz Piszczek attacks Bayern Munich. “They have no qualms”
Information about the possible transfer of the 33-year-old raises a lot of controversy. Especially since just a few weeks ago, Oliver Kahn, argued that Bayern is not stupid enough to sell a player who scores 30-40 goals a season.
The sudden change of the decision of the German club does not surprise Łukasz Piszczek. The former Polish representative in the “Viaplay” studio admitted that Bayern’s history knows similar cases – the Bavarians have repeatedly resigned from further cooperation with key players. Among them, it is worth mentioning Mario Gomez, who appeared 174 times for Bayern, scoring 113 goals and 26 assists.
– In Munich they are not really looking at whether you were deserved for the club. We know the story of Luka Toni, Mario Gomez and Mandziukic. They have their own philosophy. If they have their own development plan, they have no qualms about saying goodbye to someone important – said Piszczek.
What’s more, the former Polish representative believes that this is the perfect time for Lewandowski to take a new chapter in his career – the 33-year-old cannot afford another season at Bayern if he is serious about switching to another team.
– In the times of Borussia Dortmund the situation was similar with the contract, but Robert was at a different stage in his career. There is no time now. If he wants to change the club, he has to do it in this window – added Piszczek.

Lewandowski’s departure was a big blow for Bayern
The Polish striker is once again playing a great season – in 45 matches in all competitions, he scored 50 goals and scored seven assists. It is largely thanks to him that the club from Munich won the German championship for the tenth time in a row.
