After a disastrous start, Starbreeze continues to hold on to make PAYDAY 3 better and try to attract the too many players who have deserted the servers. The studio has just detailed the main new features that will be discovered when the next update has been deployed.

When the next major update of PAYDAY 3 is available, between the last week of April and the first of May, players will be able to discover a nice list of new features that are clearly welcome.

The main new features of the next PAYDAY 3 update
- Quick Play : The first version of Quick Match is now ready to be deployed. This feature will prioritize you with other players in ongoing games or lobbies, provided their matchmaking is set to Public. This is just the first iteration of Quick Match, the functionality will then be improved and filters for playing stealth or strong will be added, and other conditions so you can customize the type of gaming experience you are looking for .
- Merge players into the group after a game : To continue the emphasis on joint heists, you will now be able to choose to stay in a game with the people you just played a heist with. This is a simple, yet important feature that will allow you to create the foundation needed to build lasting relationships with like-minded players. Try your luck, add a friend. Who knows, maybe you'll make a friend for life? Or maybe an enemy. That's the robbery.
- Introduction passage : The ability to skip the mission introduction overview is coming. In multiplayer, all players will need to vote to skip it for it to take effect, but in single player you will be able to skip it yourself immediately.
- Shock Grenade : This grenade is very powerful; it instantly bypasses any zapper and kills it immediately. Likewise, the shields are huge and made of metal, making them highly conductive, and their users will suffer just as catastrophic results as their zapper brethren. For everyone else, the shock incapacitates them for several seconds, allowing the enterprising burglar to take advantage of their temporary inaction with lethal force. The grenade remains active on the ground for a short time, making this new grenade a great crowd control option, either to relieve pressure or to allow you to take care of a large pile of enemies at your pace.
- Bugs : Fixes for the most frequent crashes will be applied. Around 98% of server/matchmaking crashes across all platforms were due to one of these root causes, all of which are now fixed.
Remember that all of PAYDAY 3's problems did not allow it to achieve sales figures and a number of players that met management's expectations. Last month, Starbreeze CEO Tobias Sjögren was even fired because the board of directors judged that “the execution of the strategy requires different leadership”.
In the weeks and months to come, PAYDAY 3 will continue to improve, notably thanks to a ton of expected changes revealed by the studio last February. Unfortunately, the title already seems doomed. On Steam alone, it struggles to exceed 500 simultaneous players, while PAYDAY 2 still has more than 30,000.
