No Stranger Things season 5 for me: Netflix is brutally trying to cancel me because I reject the new prices

If you innocently access Netflix these days, you may suddenly find yourself… with a pop-up is confronted, which then contains, for example, this text: “Pending price change” it says here. “We're offering you even more great entertainment on Netflix. If you accept, your premium subscription will increase to €19.99. From May 20th you'll pay €19.99 per month.” This date and the respective amount are of course individual for each subscriber. What happens next?

How do you cancel Netflix?

Interestingly, after the display you now have three optionsthat you can choose. “Accept new price”, “Reject new price” and “See other options”. Understandably, the vast majority of subscribers will first press “Reject new price”. But then Netflix gets serious.

Anyone who chooses “reject” will be confronted with the fact that Netflix will cancel the existing subscription within the notice period. You don't cancel with Netflix, the streaming provider cancels you! This communication, which seems slightly aggressive, is a bit irritating.

Normally it works the other way around. You cancel with Netflix, Disney Plus, DAZN or Amazon Prime Video and the streaming provider virtually begs you to stay. With new possible discounts, with a list of exclusive content and with Expressions of love (“We will miss you!”) to the customers. You also have to confirm what feels like countless buttons.

The tone that Netflix is adopting here in the course of the price increase seems demanding, brash and somehow wrong. Speaking of “even more great entertainment”: Rebel Moon Part 2, an extremely elaborate in-house production, is currently in first place, which turns out to be an absolute film cucumber. Then it falls Cancellation from Netflix but doubly easy. Even if I'm for it on the final season of Stranger Things must forego.
