After a mixed early access start with divided opinions, No Rest for the Wicked from Moon Studios is certainly far from over. The promising mix of ISO role-playing game and Souls-Like still has some work to do, but cannot hide its immense potential.

The developers apparently know this too and are pushing one update after another to the game. The sixth hotfix was released at the weekend, which once again brought with it numerous optimizations and innovations.

Performance optimizations have been made again in the form of improved memory management and improved shadow rendering for effects. There have also been adjustments to the light rendering, which are now intended to ensure that the game has better visibility in dark areas. Furthermore, you can now also make an off-hand torch at the workbench, which will also benefit this. The corresponding construction plan is available from Whittacker.

Apart from that, some balancing adjustments have been made and the values of some rings have been optimized. There are also a number of bug fixes that fix various errors in the game. The complete patch notes for Hotfix 6 you can get it on Steam.

It's not hard to guess that this won't be the last hotfix. In the week and a half since the start of early access, six patches have already been installed and the developers are apparently still working hard to implement at least the initial feedback from the players. After that, we'll probably move on to more in-depth aspects, because some of the developers' decisions are definitely worth discussing, as we explained in our first snapshot of No Rest for the Wicked last week.
