New Action Film Featuring Ryan Gosling Could Be Getting a Sequel Soon

Released on May 1, 2024 in France, The Fall Guy features Colt Seavers, played on screen by Ryan Gosling, a former stuntman finding himself in a complicated period of his life. While starring in the film of his former girlfriend, Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt), his destiny takes a sharp turn towards big nonsense. Colt's stunt double mysteriously disappears, putting project in jeopardy. The stuntman will then become the hero of the story and try as best he can to save his ex's first feature film.

Mixing action and comedy, The Fall Guy, perceived by its director (David Leitch) as “the tribute of his career” in which he put “all his heart”, is well received by professionals and the public alike. Awarded an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, it is described as a film highlighting a profession that is too often forgotten in award ceremonies. The abundance of waterfalls is praised on one side, but sometimes criticized on the other. Some critics have indeed pointed out this impression of witnessing “to a simple compilation of stunts”. Despite everything, the press agrees that it is one of the biggest blockbusters of recent years, carried by a convincing Ryan Gosling. Steven Spielberg himself admitted to having “loved it” the feature film.

In a recent interview with FastCompanyRyan Gosling revealed that the team behind the film has already written the script for a possible sequel: “we just hope people like this movie enough that we can continue to tell the story of these characters” he added. In other words, if the public responds to the cinema and the production companies behind the project come to an agreement again, then we could see The Fall Guy 2 arrive quite quickly. As of this writing, the David Leitch-directed action film starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt has taken the top spot at the North American box office in its opening weekend, with 28 .5 million dollars raised. A number nonetheless slightly below estimates which projected a result of $30 million in revenue.
