When did Suddenly Princess come to the cinema?
In 2001, Anne Hathaway shone in the leading role of Suddenly Princess. The book adaptation grossed around $165 million on the big screen. The budget at the time was a comparatively frugal $26 million.
At the center of the story is Mia Thermopolis, a high school student who is thrown into the monarchy of the fictional kingdom of Genovia from one day to the next. After all, she is the rightful heir to the throne and experiences crazy stories in not just one, but two films.

In an interview with VMagazine, the actress was asked about the future of the series. “It looks good” was her answer. “That's all I can say. There is nothing to announce yet. But it looks good.“
Admittedly, the report is not completely new. Variety emphasizes that it reported on a third film in the series as early as November 2022. Nevertheless, Hathaway's statement has once again catapulted the project into the headlines around Hollywood. When exactly we will see Suddenly Princess 3 remains unclear.
