Manor Lords: Is the hype becoming a danger?

Lots of hype

All of this means a lot Respect and lots of hype taken care of. We have kindly already received a pre-release version. So I've been able to play with a few colleagues for a few days and I've had fun. However, as I played, I began to have more and more doubts.

I'm increasingly concerned that the hype surrounding Manor Lords has become too big and that could have a negative impact at the start of the game.

But let me explain. As mentioned, we have already received access to the game. I now have about 20 hours in the game spent and started several settlements, one of which was further expanded.

I really enjoyed this season. Manor Lords has one very slow pace. Even if you play at the fastest speed, the game is still comparatively relaxed. But the game isn't meant to be rushed through either.

No, you're supposed to watch here! Namely completely relaxed.

Manor Lords is a game with one high buzz factor. The poor settler fans So you finally get your money's worth again. Also me as old annoholic I can't get enough of my villages and towns.

Every resident leaves his daily tasks that are controlled by his needs. The villagers go to the well, fetch water, visit the market place and buy firewood, food or other goods. Then of course they go about their work. In Manor Lords you always assign a family to the various jobs, such as the hunting lodge, the woodcutter, etc.

That is absolutely understandable. Back then there was the miller family or the blacksmith family. We all still have the resulting surnames to this day.

The graphics are stunning

Watching there is simply amazing. Paired with the really pretty graphics of Unreal Engine 4 are always available new great panoramas. When the sun slowly moves over the horizon on a cold autumn day and the ground fog lies in the valleys in the distance, it just looks amazing.

The dynamic map in Manor Lords

One of my favorite graphical features is one that I didn't immediately recognize at first glance. When you zoom out, the normal landscape disappears and becomes a stylized map. And it is dynamic! When you create paths and build houses, they are also marked on the map. That looks really nice.

However, there are not only pretty but pointless features; really smart functions, which were developed for the game. Building houses, for example. Instead of placing each house individually, you subtract an area with four points. You can see how many houses fit in the area and whether there is still room for additional buildings with which you can expand the residential buildings later.

In addition, these areas automatically nestle against existing streets or other buildings. That's so comfortableI would like to see this in every new building game from now on! So, everything is actually great, right? Well, now we come to the title of this opinion article, the big “BUT”.
