Trade in Manor Lords, the key to a prosperous kingdom
Among the many features present in Manor Lords, we obviously find trade which quickly becomes a vital component if you wish to keep your colony on the right track. Trade not only allows you to get rich, but also to acquire many resources which can be complex to recover depending on the characteristics of your territory and your colony. There are several ways to get started in trading and although this system may seem difficult to access at first, it is ultimately quite simple to understand.
As said before, trading in Manor Lords works in several ways. The main one that interests us today only concerns the trade in resources. In short, you can offer for sale the different resources that you collect, but also acquire them and thus diversify your stocks, which will allow you to develop your colony peacefully.. Everything is based on a particular building: the trading post which allows trade routes to be set up.
The Royal Route, essential for trade
Before getting into business, you need to build a trading post, a building which can be found in the “commerce” tab of the menu dedicated to constructions. Be aware, however, that the location of your trading post will play a role in its performance. Therefore, it is recommended to build it near the royal road, the main road which crosses your starting region and connects it to the others. This strategic location will allow you to facilitate the passage of itinerant merchants and that of your loads.
Once your trading post is built, you must assign at least one family to it, as well as a horse that you can directly acquire in your building's menu. Owning a horse makes it easier to transport goods, but is not absolutely obligatory. That being said, nothing will be effective until you have established trade routes. Again, it's very simple. You need to go to the “trade” tab of the trading post menu, which then opens up to different categories of resources – construction, crops, food, crafting materials, goods and military.
Three options are then available to you for any resource by clicking on the “no trade” button: import, export or both. All you have to do is select the desired option, configure the number of resources required and finally click on the cart illustration on the far right to establish a trade route.. The game then takes care of the rest. Finally, be aware that trade represents a cost in regional wealth that can be optimized by selecting the appropriate improvements present in your colony's skill tree.
