Since the beginning of August, Roskomnadzor began to require telecom operators to block subscriber numbers with outdated personal data.This is reported by Vedomosti.

According to preliminary data, mobile operators can block up to 7 million gray SIM cards.As a rule, such numbers are usually distributed near the metro without concluding a contract or are massively purchased by companies for corporate purposes.

After receiving the list of numbers, the operator must notify the subscriber within three days.Within 15 days, the user can enter up-to-date information about himself on the “Gosuslugi”, through the operator’s application or in the communication salon.If he does not do this, then his number will be blocked in accordance with the law “On Communications”.

Denis Kuskov, CEO of the Telecom Daily agency, confirmed that operators “are now very actively sending out notifications to subscribers about the need to confirm their passport data in order to avoid blocking.”
