In Russia, they are going to launch the production of routers with Wi-Fi 6

According to Izvestiaby the end of 2024, the production of Wi-Fi 6 routers will be launched in Russia. The project will be supervised by the Ministry of Digital Development, and large providers (Rostelecom, ER-Telecom and others) will become potential buyers of Russian routers, which will resell or rent them out to their subscribers, thereby ensuring demand.

Wi-Fi 6 is not the latest wireless Internet standard, after Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 were approved, and Wi-Fi 8 may well appear by 2024.

In Russia, there are already enterprises that develop and manufacture routers, but basically these devices operate in the 2.4 GHz band and do not support connections at 5-6 GHz frequencies. Wi-Fi 6 routers use more complex and expensive components, and their assembly requires modern equipment, which is not yet available in Russia.
