Big quake on Steam. For several weeks now, a fierce battle for the top spot has been raging in the sales charts of the large online shop. It was a constant back and forth between several blockbusters, who have taken turns taking their place on the throne of Steam. The mega-hit Helldivers 2 and the long-running Counter-Strike 2 were always at the forefront. But what does it currently look like in the top 10?
What exactly is Steam?
Steam is a digital distribution platform for PC games, the largest in the world. Developed and operated by the US company Valve, which many gaming fans enjoy, among other things, games like Dota 2 and Half Life should know. In contrast to classic streaming services such as Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, there are no monthly subscription fees and use is free. All you need to do is create an account and download the official client to get started. But what are the most successful games on Steam right now?

Who is #1 on Steam?
Although Valve's XML feed does not currently offer the complete top 10, it is still worth taking a closer look at the current rankings. The top spot is currently the multiplayer shooter Counter-Strike 2, while the big hype surrounding Helldivers 2 seems to have died down a bit now. The shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios is “only” in fourth place.
