What is the best weapon in No Rest for the Wicked?

In No Rest for the Wicked, you will be able to play with a large number of different weapons. Ambidextrous daggers, one-handed sword, one-handed club, claymore, two-handed hammer, staff, bow, scythe, shield, rapier, spear… Moon Studios' game has not skimped on the means and offers you a whole arsenal to discover. However, the loot is completely random, and it is therefore difficult to find a specific weapon. Furthermore, each piece of equipment (weapon, armor and accessory) is available in 4 different rarities: Ordinary, Rare, Plagued And Unique. Apart from Unique weapons which can only be collected from bosses (but which do not drop every time), all the others can be found by killing enemies, buying them from a merchant or opening a store. chest.

If you're lucky, one of the first high-powered weapons you'll be able to use in No Rest for the Wicked is the Noxious Blade. Indeed, this Great Greatsword Unique can be recovered from the corpse of Warrick, the first boss of the game. She hits very hard and has 4 very powerful runic attacks in addition to her very interesting passive effects. Furthermore, it only asks 11 points in Strength to be used. If you like the gameplay of the Great Greatswords and you're lucky enough to find it on the first boss, you probably won't need to use another weapon during the entire Early Access period.

However, rest assured, it is not necessary to have the Nauseating Blade to have an excellent build. Indeed, in No Rest for the Wicked, it is actually possible to make a very effective build with any weapon in the game. If you want to have a good build, We therefore advise you first to determine which style of weapon suits you by trying as many of them as possible. (you can buy a lot of them from the merchants in Sacrament). Once this is done, you will just need to improve it thoroughly to take advantage of its full potential (see below).

What attributes should you prioritize in No Rest for the Wicked?

As we explained to you in our attribute guide, classes and in our 5 mistakes not to make in No Rest for the Wickedwe advise you to spend your first attribute points on “neutral” characteristics such as HealthL'Endurancethere Concentration or the Load equipped. Indeed, whatever your build, you will necessarily need these four characteristics and therefore cannot go wrong. Once you've determined what type of weapons you want to specialize in, however, it's time to spend a few points on one or two of the damage-related traits.

No Rest for the Wicked: how to make the best build for early access?

If you chose to play with the Nauseous Bladefor example, we advise you to invest a lot of points in Strength. Indeed, the more you have, the more damage you will inflict with this weapon. If you have chosen another weapon, refer to the characteristic on which it depends by looking at its sheet. The icon is located at the prerequisites level or just below the damage. Be careful, we advise you to determine your specialty fairly quickly and stick to it, otherwise you risk losing attribute points for nothing. Depending on your strengths and weaknesses, don't forget to add a few points in the 4 neutral characteristics to counterbalance a lack of endurance or health for example.

Whether you chose to use the Nauseous Blade or not, One of the most important aspects to consider in No Rest for the Wicked is the equipment upgrade system. Indeed, if you do not improve your weapons, you will depend on random loot to improve your damage, and this is the best way to find yourself under-equipped compared to your opponents. If you upgrade your weapons well, even a simple pair of Ordinary Ambidextrous Daggers dropped during your first hour of play could see you through early access.

To improve your equipment, you will depend on two Sacrament merchants: the blacksmith and the enchantress. For this reason, we strongly advise you to improve them as a priority thanks to Danos the Builder. Note that other merchants will also be able to save you some resource farming time if you upgrade them too.

No Rest for the Wicked: how to make the best build for early access?

The first thing to do to improve your equipment is to turn it into Rare or Plague (if it is Ordinary equipment). Once you've found a weapon or armor that suits you, check out the'Enchantress to do it for you for a coin. Be careful, if you want to change the rarity of an item, make sure you have a duplicate of it or have an interesting equivalent to equip in case of a problem. Indeed, if the enchantress transforms your object into plague equipment and the penalty is too disabling, you will not be able to use it.

Once you have a Rare or Plague weapon that suits you, check out the black-smith and select it in the tab dedicated to improvementthen spend them resources necessary to do so. At the beginning, you will mainly need'Weapon Shards and of Copper ingots. You will find the first quite easily in many of the game's chests (which reappear regularly each time the fog of war returns), and you can buy the second directly from the blacksmith. After a few improvements, the latter will ask you for other resources that are a little rarer to obtain, such as a Wolf Fang to upgrade your weapon to level II. You will find the latter by killing wolves in the area east of Sacrament. Afterwards, you will again need Weapon Shards and Iron Ingots, which you can buy from the blacksmith if you have upgraded it to level 2.

Once your weapon is upgraded to the maximum you can do, you will also be able to upgrade to your armor. Always with the black-smithyou can improve your armor pieces by giving them Armor Shards and Handmade leather. Here again, you can find the shards in chests, and the second resource by buying it from merchants or by making it yourself from animal skins if you have unlocked what to do it in your house for example.

Be careful, while improving the level of your equipment is the quickest way to make it more efficient, you shouldn't underestimate it either. setting gems or adding runes. To push your equipment to its maximum capacity, we advise you to see Eleanor the Enchantress (right next to the blacksmith) and ask him to socket gems and runes into your equipment. In doing so, depending on the gems selected, you can for example add elemental damage to your weapons or a hit point bonus to your armor. Runes, for their part, can be collected from weapons you don't want to keep and socketed into those you use to obtain new, very effective runic skills.. Be careful, the runes correspond to a particular type of weapon. You will therefore not be able to place a two-handed weapon rune on a one-handed weapon. If you play with a Unique weapon like the Noxious Blade, you will already have 4 runes equipped and will not be able to replace them with others or extract them. However, don't forget to set it with a gem.

What are the best rings in No Rest for the Wicked?

At the start of your adventure in No Rest for the Wicked, you will only be able to equip one ring at a time. Once again, the latter will mainly depend on your luck since the loot is completely random in the game. However, we strongly advise you to keep your eyes peeled for an agility ring. The latter is in fact particularly effective since it allows you to spend less Stamina and increase your speedwhich makes a real difference in combat.

If you are not lucky enough to come across theagility ring fairly quickly, know that other alternatives are entirely viable. For example, a ring allows you to increase the number of experience recovered from each defeated enemy, which can be a real way to improve more quickly. In all cases, we advise you to unlock the maximum number of wearable ring slots at the same time as quickly as possible. By giving Plague Ichors At Watchman in Sacrament, you will indeed be able to increase several different sections of your inventory, and none are as important as the rings. You will find a Plague Ichor every time you defeat a boss.
