Helldivers 2: Players complete new major order in 12 hours

The players of “Helldivers 2” were recently given a new major contract. However, this was done earlier than the users themselves thought possible.

After the players of “Helldivers 2” recently received one Threat from the Automatons were able to successfully fight back, the fighters for democracy were now given a new task. Within six days, the Helldivers were supposed to collectively destroy two billion Terminids.

Instead of six days, the players apparently only needed a measly twelve hours for the major order. However, there are doubts as to whether this phenomenal victory for the over-earth was actually counted correctly.

Great effort from the players or a skewed count?

“I just received a notification that the major order has already been completed,” wondered one player on Reddit. “I thought two billion was a lot, especially with a few hundred kills per player, maybe only 1,000 per mission. But apparently a lot of people must have played. I was looking forward to being there and helping kill the equivalent of about a quarter of the people on Earth, but I didn’t even get the chance!”

While some players are happy to have completed the new order in such a short time, there are also doubts about the accuracy of the data. They suspect there were glitches at work or the counting system was faulty.

Did every kill count multiple times?

A user on Reddit said he was doing calculations while monitoring real-time tracking data in Helldivers 2. Supposedly every Terminid kill in the shooter was counted three times. “The current practice is to triple count kills,” the player wrote.

One commenter pointed out in the post that it might behave like the previous Personal Orders order. Back then, kills for a squad were multiplied, so around 1,000 collective kills counted as 1,000 kills for each team member. However, it is not known whether the situation is similar for this major order.

Another player suspects glitches are behind the many Terminid eliminations. “I noticed that if I hit something with my autocannon's splash damage, my kill streak counter still keeps ticking. Even if it’s a squadmate who ends up killing the enemy.”
