Shadowdrops are now de rigueur in today's video game landscape, and Supergiant Games also seem to be fans of spontaneous releases. Last night, without much fanfare, Hades II landed in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Of course, the game isn't completely finished yet, but the scope is already impressive. The developers say as follows: “The Early Access of Hades II currently has more regions, enemies and English-dubbed characters than the first Hades. However, the game is not yet fully developed – this means that some key regions, Characters, enemies, story events and systems are not yet included.”

Just the statement that the size is larger than the first Hades should make fans' ears flap with joy. According to its own statement, the studio has been working on the successor to the indie hit for over three years.

But how long should Hades II be in Early Access for? There is no concrete announcement about this yet, but it will take at least until the end of 2024 until version 1.0 is finally published.

The early access version of Hades II is available for 28.99 euros, this price applies to both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Even with the first part, Supergiant Games took the fans' feedback to heart and adapted the game accordingly.

As is well known, in Hades II you slip into the skin of Melinoë, princess of the underworld and sister of Zagreus, the hero of the first part. Their goal is to kill the god of time, Kronos. To do this, she descends deep into the underworld and faces randomly generated dungeons and tons of enemies. As is typical of the genre, you also unlock lots of permanent upgrades and new weapons.
