Hades 2: Early Access started

Shortly before, it was still in technical testing, but now early access has also started. The roguelike sequel “Hades 2” is now to be improved with the community.

“Hades 2” was only released at the end of April technical test started, for which fans could register. During the test, players were allowed to explore the first region of the roguelike sequel for free and face the first boss. It should also help to identify errors and other problems.

The developers at Supergiant Games stated that “Hades 2” would also be released after the test phase to quickly bring it into early access. This has now happened and the title has been available on Steam and the Epic Games Store since May 6th.

Already the first “Hades”, which was released in 2020, went through an early access phase before the final release. The same should now also apply to “Hades 2”, the very first sequel from the San Francisco studio.

As the developers write, they assume that “Hades 2” will remain in early access at least until the end of 2024. During this time, the game should benefit from feedback from the community, who can express their opinions on everything from balancing to storytelling on the roguelike's official Discord server.

Already more extensive than the first game

According to the studio, “Hades 2” already has more regions, enemies and English-dubbed characters in Early Access than the first game. However, the title is far from finished, meaning that some key regions, characters, enemies, story events and systems are not yet included in Early Access.

It may also happen that players are currently reaching a point in the game where the current content has come to an end. In addition, other parts of “Hades 2” are still in the works, such as user interfaces, icons and character designs

During the test phase that has now started, the studio wants to release a major update with new functions and content every few months. There will also be smaller patches that will fix any problems. The first major update is scheduled to appear later this year.

The full version of “Hades 2” is expected to contain more complete and mature features and content, achievements and the true ending of the story. Depending on how much more content is added to the game, the price of the game, which currently costs €28.99, may be increased at a later date, Supergiant Games said.
