THQ Nordic starts distributing the Gothic Collector's Edition: For €200 the buyer receives a replica of the iconic 'Sleeper Mask'.

Update from April 26, 2024: In addition to the THQ Nordic Store, the Gothic Collector's Edition can now also be pre-ordered from retailers such as MediaMarkt and Saturn for €199.99 each (no appointment yet, but with a price guarantee).

Report from April 25, 2024: The fate of the traditional Essen studio Piranha Bytes, which is responsible for the role-playing game series, is still unclear Gothic has built up a loyal fan base since 2001. The Viennese publisher THQ Nordic is still looking for a follow-up use for the remaining development team and a role-playing game project that is currently under construction (code name: Currywurst), for which the federal government pledged more than €3 million in funding in March 2023.

The contents of the Collector's Edition for the remake are much more specific Gothic, which is being developed by the young Catalan studio Alkimia Interactive in Barcelona. The completely renovated fantasy role-playing game is based on the game world, the characters, the quests and the mechanics of the original, but of course is equipped with modern graphics and a revised combat system.

A specific publication date for the Gothic-There is no new edition yet – trading continues to operate with the placeholder date “31. December 2024”. The corresponding one can be pre-ordered as of today Gothic Collector's Editionwhich is produced in a limited edition of 7,500 pieces and the scope of delivery is as follows:

  • the game for PC, PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S
  • a 34 centimeter wide and 24 centimeter high 'sleeper mask' including wall mount
  • a leather bracelet with Gothic-punching
  • a leather-bound notebook
  • the game soundtrack on CD
