God of War with support for NVIDIA DLSS and Reflex

Let us rejoice and be glad because God of War just had its premiere on PCs. This means that a huge group of players is finally getting a chance to experience the journey of Kratos and Atreus. NVIDIA, which took care of a specific update of the Game Ready drivers, will certainly help them.

God of War finally on PC

This is a moment in the history of the gaming industry that I certainly wouldn’t have expected a year ago. God of War – one of the biggest brands belonging to PlayStation – has finally made its debut on the PC. However, this is not her original incarnation from 2005, but reboot 4 years ago. Although the journey of Kratos and Atreus is captivating without knowing the previous installments, years of adventures with the iconic hero certainly add to the value of Santa Monica Studios’ stories.

Before you dive into the action, though, it’s worth updating your graphics drivers. If you own any of the NVIDIA RTX series chips, a great treat awaits you. Game Ready drivers version 511.23 is primarily support for DLSS and Reflex technologies in God of War. Thanks to these improvements, game performance can be increased by up to 45% for 4K resolution.

The NVIDIA Reflex also seems to be an interesting addition. This feature does not require a card with RTX support anymore, and it will work on GeForce 900 series. Thanks to these settings, Kratos can react up to 22% faster to our commands. God of War is a very intense action game, so surely every millisecond is worth its weight in gold.

Boy, right here!

Contrary to appearances, God of War on computers is not easy copy paste with PlayStation 4. The game has support for 4K and 60fps resolutions – just like on PlayStation 5. In addition, there have been a lot of changes in the quality of the generated shadows – sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. The biggest challenge for the developers, however, turned out to be the support for Ultrawide screens – mainly due to the fact that the gameplay does not include any camera cuts.

If you haven’t played in God of War on PlayStation consoles, it is definitely worth spending even PLN 219. This is a quality rarely experienced by PC gamers on their hardware. I refer all doubts to Adam’s review – my friend explains all the details about the port on the PC.

One thing’s for sure: if the Kratos adventure hits great sales, players will see even more of PlayStation Studios’ creations on PC.
