If you're one of those people who haven't played Cyberpunk 2077 yet, then the following announcement might be just right for you. As CD Projekt announced in the afternoon, the studio is preparing to launch a free trial. The demo includes the entire main game and will be released for both the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The trial will start on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 4 p.m. our time, coinciding with the long Easter weekend. You can then play the demo for five hours until Monday, April 1, 2024 at 8:59 a.m.

The trial offers this content

According to the developers at CD Projekt, the “ultimate Cyberpunk 2077 experience” awaits you in the free trial. “Players will also be able to experience Update 2.1, which introduced a fully functional subway system, the ability to listen to in-game radio stations outside of vehicles via the Radioport, new vehicles and more to the game.” , adds CD Projekt to the free trial.

If you decide to purchase the full version after playing the demo, you can of course transfer your progress and continue your adventure seamlessly.

There is one limitation

As part of today's announcement, CD Projekt pointed out that there is a small restriction on the free trial for “Cyberpunk 2077”. You can only take advantage of the offer if you have not yet played the role-playing game on your PSN or Xbox Live account.

In addition, the “Phantom Liberty” expansion is left out. “Phantom Liberty” was released last year for the PC and the current consoles and had sold more than 1,000 copies by the end of 2023 five million times.

“Cyberpunk 2077” was initially released in December 2020 for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Native implementations for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S and the “Phantom Liberty” add-on followed a little later. For technical reasons, no implementations for the old consoles were included in the expansion.

CD Projekt is currently working on the successor for “Cyberpunk 2077”, which is in development under the code name “Project Orion”.
