Mages announced today The Quintessential Quintuplets: Gotopazu Story 2nd, currently in development for Nintendo Switch. The game is expected to launch in 2024 in Japan.
The Quintessential Quintuplets: Gotopazu Story 2nd, a “commemorative adventure game”, contains the events, maps and stories of Gotopazu, a smartphone game based on The Quintessential Quintuplets. However, puzzle elements will not be included. This title will also contain events etc. from the game's second year of service.

The story of The Quintessential Quintuplets revolves around Fuutarou Uesugi, a bright but financially poor high school student, who is hired as a tutor for five identical sisters: Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba and Itsuki Nakano. Each of the quintuplets has their own distinct personality and interests, which adds an interesting dynamic to the story. As Fuutarou tries to help the sisters succeed in school, he also finds himself caught in complicated romantic situations with each of them.
The anime adaptation helped increase the series' popularity, especially among international fans. It first aired in 2019 and received positive reviews for its quality animation and voice acting. A second season of the anime aired in 2021, followed by a third season scheduled for 2022.

At the beginning of the story, Fuutarou is hired as a tutor for the Nakano quintuplets, all of whom have academic difficulties and very different personalities. Fuutarou encounters many obstacles while trying to help them, especially because Nino is reluctant and suspicious of him. However, over time, Fuutarou and the sisters' relationship begins to improve. He develops close ties with each of them, even if this is not always easy. He also discovers that the quintuplets have unresolved family issues, including tension with their father.

- Miku : Miku secretly admires Fuutarou from the beginning. She becomes closer to him and finally confesses her feelings to him, but is devastated to learn that he cannot give her a straight answer because of his feelings for the other sisters.
- Yotsuba : Yotsuba is the most selfless of the quintuplets and often puts the needs of others before her own. She also has feelings for Fuutarou, but she hides them because of her loyalty to her sisters.
- Itsuki : Itsuki is the most reserved when it comes to her feelings, but she eventually realizes that she also loves Fuutarou. She is the last of the quintuplets to confess her feelings.
As the story progresses, secrets about the quintuplets' past and their family are revealed. It is discovered that their mother died when they were young, which left an emotional void in their lives and contributed to their family problems. The quintuplets' father, who was initially absent, returns to their lives, creating additional tension. Fuutarou tries to help the sisters reconcile with their father and overcome their family trauma.
Towards the end of the story, Fuutarou realizes that he has deep feelings for one of the quintuplets, but he has difficulty choosing because of his close bonds with all of the sisters. Ultimately, he makes a surprising decision that leads to a romantic outcome. In the ending, we learn that the quintuplet chosen by Fuutarou is Yotsuba. They confess their feelings to each other and start dating. The other quintuplets also find their own path to happiness, whether through further education, careers, or finding love. The series ends on a positive note, with the quintuplets and Fuutarou ready to face the future together, while retaining the precious memories of their years together.
