In addition, the developers at Square Enix are preparing to release update 1.31. Just like “The Rising Tide,” the patch will be released on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Shortly before the update’s release, Square Enix provided the official changelog. This shows that in addition to various adjustments to the gameplay, additional features are also offered.

For example, the development team expanded the Orchestrion with new roles that you can purchase in selected shops and then use to listen to pieces of the soundtrack.

Adjustments to the combat system and new features

Adjustments to the combat system are also offered. For example, the team increased your attack power outside of certain Eikon battles and made adjustments to the user interface in selected Eikon battles. In addition, the balancing of the Eikon fights and the attacks of the magical creatures was fine-tuned.

The accessories also underwent balancing adjustments as part of update 1.31. Other innovations in the upcoming “Final Fantasy 16” update include the “Quick Complete” function, which allows you to return to the client immediately after successfully completing a quest.

Leviathan stands up for battle

If you have purchased “The Rising Tide”, after installing update 1.31 you will find a scroll with an unusual request in your hideout. Here the protagonist Clive is asked to travel to Mysidia.

According to the developers at Square Enix, the fight against Leviathan that awaits you in “The Rising Tide” DLC will be noticeably different from the other Eikon battles in “Final Fantasy 16”.

Not surprisingly, the element water plays a crucial role. “One thing I can say is that there will be a lot of water. Visual and graphical. There will be many attacks from Leviathan, and that brings with it a lot of water,” led Director Takeo Kujiraoka.

“It will look really different than previous Eikon battles, and that’s something players can look forward to.”
