Exciting Updates Following the Fallout Game’s Success

Todd Howard was recently asked about the release date of Bethesda's next two cartridges: The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5. Here's what he had to say.

When it was released in 2011, Skyrim popularized the license to a whole new audience. A success almost as indecent as its numerous ports, which ranks The Elder Scrolls 6 among the most anticipated games of the coming years. Fallout 5 now joins it at the top of the list following the atomic box office of the Prime Video series. In fact, Todd Howard, boss of Bethesda, recently spoke about the studio's next two games.

The Fallout license is currently on everyone's lips thanks to the resounding success of the Prime Video series. It was at this stage only a formality, Amazon and Bethesda will be back for a second season which should make even more fans of the first hour. The enthusiasm is such that all the games in the license are experiencing new growth, even Fallout 76 and Shelter. Naturally, all eyes are on Fallout 5, now awaited by a whole new audience. Will this new popularity impact Bethesda's initial plans and therefore The Elder Scrolls 6? Todd Howard answered the question that was on everyone's lips during a recent interview with IGN.

We reassure you, Bethesda is sticking to its roadmap, especially since the game seems to be progressing well. To mark the 30th anniversary of the license, the developers announced that The Elder Scrolls 6 was even playable internally. It clearly seemed unlikely that the publisher would make such a turnaround at this stage of development. Cautious, Todd Howard, however, prefers not to put forward a release window, however approximate they may be. “ I'm going to avoid putting dates on anything. I learned this the hard way. So obviously we're focused on developing The Elder Scrolls 6, but that doesn't mean we're not planning other things. », he explained to our colleagues.

Towards a treatment similar to Fallout?

The most recent games will still benefit from rigorous monitoring, notably Fallout 76 which has welcomed its share of newcomers in recent days. Starfield will also be entitled to major DLC and a slew of updates which will come to light very soon. TES Online should also follow its merry path, especially as the teams are working together with those of The Elder Scrolls 6 on the lore of the next title so that it is as coherent as possible.

“A lot of things are happening” as the Bethesda boss simply sums it up. However, we should not count on a series based on what was the publisher's flagship license until a few days ago. Todd Howard has recently been rather formal, an adaptation of The Elder Scrolls is not on the agenda, even if he seems to be overwhelmed by requests. “ Now everyone is asking for an adaptation for The Elder Scrolls, and I keep saying no. The project must be born naturally with good ideas, and not something forced. “, he indicated.
