During the 2024 European Football Championship in Germany, the city of Dortmund also wants to position itself as an e-sports location.

The signs point to summer fairy tale 2.0 – at least from the perspective of the organizers and the national team: The UEFA European Football Championship (Euro 2024 for short) starts on June 14, 2024 in Germany. Not all fans can be there live in the stadiums: the demand for tickets was many times greater than the available contingent.

To accompany the group and knockout games in the ten host cities – the 'Host Cities' – fan zones with a lavish accompanying program will be created. The football stronghold of Dortmund has set itself the biggest mark in the area of ​​gaming and e-sports.

With the conception and implementation of the corresponding measures and 'activations' the Essen agency Playerone who has already worked for brands such as Canon, Swatch and Deutsche Telekom. Together with media partner Kicker eSport and Electronic Arts, an e-sports tournament based on is planned in the week before the European Championship final on July 14th EA Sports FC 24 will be held – directly at Friedensplatz in the heart of Dortmund.
