Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 begins the Future Saga – News

It almost takes a doctorate, if not specialized studies, to trace the tangled chronology of Xenoverse 2 but we will stick to the essentials. The demons Mira and Towa have given way to their purple offspring Fu for quite a while now, and this Loki on steroids never stops having fun tampering with space-time to carry out his experiments (the purpose of which is often based on a game massacre or an attempted celestial putsch). After having sowed chaos in the past, it is time to disrupt the future – or at least, what it could be. The opportunity to have fun with the elements introduced by Dragon Ball Super.

Knots in time

Thus, among the adventures to be experienced in the first chapter of the Future Saga, we will return to the dystopian future of Goku Black, where the misanthropic deity Zamasu steals the body of our hero to make it a weapon of mass destruction. In this version, Goku survives in Zamasu's body, and we will be able to team up with him to turn the tide. Xenoverse 2 also presents yet another duel with a resentful Vegeta seduced by an evil power; studded with pinkish crystals, the prince of the Saiyans assures that this time, it's the right one, he will slam Goku and send him back to second place on the podium of the big guys.

In addition to the questionable narrative, the first chapter of the Future Saga will inflate the content of Xenoverse 2 with a minimum of three new playable characters. A first infographic announces that Goku Black and Vegeta will be playable in “Ultra Supervillain” mode, a unique transformation caused by Fu's manipulations. Bandai Namco has not yet bothered to explain what will change in their moveset. A third thief should be revealed by release in spring 2024.

At the same time, Bandai Namco is preparing the release of the version next gen of Xenoverse 2. The kamehamehas simulator is due to arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on May 24. However, the visual changes are very minimal, as shown by a quick initial comparison posted by the channel DBZanto. A few blades of grass blow in the wind, but that's all. Really the bare minimum for an aging game, already published in 2016, whose graphic patina shows the weight of the years despite the make-up operation initiated by Dimps. We can bet that the loading times and increased fluidity will justify all this time spent waiting for a real patch next gen.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will publish the first (paid) chapter of the Future Saga by the end of spring.
