Inspired by Lovecraft

You might think that the industry is cruel and doesn't leave room for small projects or freelancers. Yet these kinds of beautiful stories make us lie. Recently, this kickstarter around this horror game, inspired by Lovecraft, was more than 1800% funded. Suffice to say that all levels exploded very quickly: in less than ten days to be a little more precise. It's a dizzying climb for its creators, who must now not disappoint these hundreds of new fans. At the same time, it's true that this project, which is also inspired by Agatha Christie's books, is tempting. One thing is certain, its development is going smoothly.

Investigation and horror in the same game

If you like Lovecraft's creatures and Agatha Christie's investigations, then you might fall under the spell of “Horror on the Orient-Express”, a rendition of the famous eponymous board game from 1991, still signed by Chaosium. In this investigation, you will have to search for artifacts aboard the Orient-Express train. Except your quest is disrupted by a sect called the Skin Brothers. In this new version, almost all the elements have been redesigned to offer players a completely new gaming experience. We find the original content, but also three new characters as well as around fifty new skills, abilities or cards passengers. This new interpretation is aimed at both longtime fans and newcomers. Keep an eye out, because as indicated on the Kickstarterrumors travel very quickly on the train and certain individuals can quickly become suspicious.

As we explained to you, this project exploded on the crowdfunding site. While its goal was only $50,000, hundreds of people wanted to contribute to the creation of Horror on the Orient-Express. Ultimately, more than $900,000 was raised on Kickstarter in 10 days. Please note that the campaign is still open, but you only have two days left to participate. Until April 19, you can still help the project, and in exchange receive a free game expansion and other bonuses. Please note that several editions of the project and levels are available to suit all prices. Delivery of Horror on the Orient-Express is expected in August 2025. Until then, the publisher Chaosium still has many surprises to prepare and develop, to pay tribute in the most beautiful way to the 1991 title.
