First announced in 2022, it is this year that the remake of Silent Hill 2 developed by Bloober Team should finally see the light of day. As a reminder, the Polish studio has made a reputation in the genre of horror games with titles like Layers of Fear, Observer or even The Medium which was for a while one of the first Xbox Series exclusives.

This time, Bloober Team works for the opposite camp because Silent Hill 2 (2024) is planned to be a PS5 console exclusive, at least for the moment, while a PC version would be for later. But before that, the developers want to reassure about the release of the game.

Communication that is intended to be reassuring

Recently, Bloober Team revealed its annual financial report, like most other companies in the industry. So, we can read that about Silent Hill 2, the studio is “very confident of the final result“. A little further, the report specifies by indicating: “We do not hide it internally or externally – this is the most important test of our actions. Both in their communication and through their report, the motto at Bloober Team is to reassure and show that they are confident about this highly anticipated project. After all, we're still talking about the remake of one of the most cult horror games of all time.

Silent Hill 2, a project that does not convince the crowds

If Bloober Team insists so much on this, it is because we need to reassure the players. Since the project revealed its first images, Internet users have not been convinced of the graphic rendering of this remake which does not pay homage to the base material according to some. Things got worse in January 2024 when a trailer dedicated to the game's combat was revealed during a State of Play.

Suffice to say that the players did not appreciate it at all, as evidenced by the number of red thumbs which is 49% on YouTube. It must be said that a trailer focused on combat seems very clumsy for a game which focuses above all on its gloomy atmosphere and which is not known for offering a memorable combat system.. In any case, we will have to wait before discovering the final result normally expected this year.
