Developer is already thinking about the second part

The game hasn't even been released yet and a possible successor is already being teased. Game director Hyung-Tae Kim is definitely promoting the game in this somewhat unconventional way Stellar Blade.

The action-adventure, which is seen in many places as a souls-like with a visual mix NieR: Automata and Bayonetta will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5 at the end of April. Especially the main character is Eve in focus for various reasons.

Stellar Blade: If Eve had short hair, the game would have been released a year earlier

There would be a costume that would make the dark-haired fighter appear almost naked. In fact, it is “only” a tight-fitting bodysuit, which is the color of her skin. In contrast to scarce armor in some RPGs, there are no bonuses for the skin suit in Stellar Blade. On the contrary: health is reduced to a minimum. Game director Hyung-Tae Kim from developer Shift Up has an interview with Famitsu gave some insights into the work surrounding the design of Eve. However, he did not want to provide any information.

The interviewer seemed to be very interested in the young lady's age. “I advise anyone who is particularly interested in this question to play Stellar Blade intensively. And then there's the answer maybe in the next part.” So is Kim actually already thinking about a sequel? If the post-apocalyptic action RPG can demonstrate a corresponding level of success, this step would of course be obvious.

A particular challenge in Eve's design was the long, black ponytail. “If she didn’t have that hairstyle, the game’s development time might have been a year shorter,” Kim said. “The Team asked for this multiple times“Whether it could be made shorter.” The game director obviously attached importance to the appearance of the main character. “I often find it fascinating how people move their bodies, how costumes or hair blow behind them. We wanted to convey this physical expression and transfer it in the form of fighting movement.”

This weekend the players can get a first impression of Stellar Blade. A free demo will be available on PlayStation Store from March 29th. The game then appears on April 26th for PlayStation 5.
