As the debut of Alder Lake processors approaches, there will be more and more leaks about motherboards ready to accompany the 12th generation of Intel Core CPUs. The first ASUS motherboard to leak theROG STRIX Z690-I GAMING WIFI, a model in mini-ITX whose images were shared in an unspecified Chinese chat.
Despite the extremely compact dimensions, we find a feeding section formed by ben 10 phases in 8 + 1 + 1 configuration, more than capable of handling the upcoming K series processors, along with a very particular implementation of the audio and storage sector.
To make up for the obvious lack of space (the format imposes dimensions of 17 cm x 17 cm), the card makes use of a “multi-level” PCB with which, through a series of overlapping PCBs (daughterboard), you can have two M.2 slots and a dedicated audio controller, along with a number of “extra” connectors that have no place on the main printed circuit of the motherboard.
The ASUS Z690 series of motherboards should be available at the same time as the new Intel Core 12th Gen processors, expected on November 4 according to the most recent rumors, although it may be possible to buy the new motherboards a week earlier. According to some leaks from European retailers, the ROG STRIX Z690-I GAMING WIFI should cost between 350 and 450 euros.
