A flop then, now a hit? This Spider-Man surprises in US cinemas!

Fans are currently waiting impatiently the cinematic comeback of Spider-Man. While Marvel projects from distant relatives like Madam Web or Morbius fails on the big screen, little by little there are new rumors surrounding the comic icon.

In the United States, however, there is no need for a fourth film to bring Spider-Man back to cinemas. That's enough for that the 100th anniversary of Columbia Pictures. In this context, the success of a specific return to the big screen is quite interesting.

When did Spider-Man come to the cinema?

In 2002, not only Spider-Man was released in the cinema, but also an entire trilogy. There were three films with Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and Co. produced and published in the course of the 2000s. In the director's chair at the time, Sam Raimi was not only a director known for horror films, but also an absolute comic book nerd.

The financial success of the entire project is beyond question. It's not without reason that in the following years there would be numerous other projects centered around characters like Iron Man, Captain America and the rest of the Avengers. The foundation for the Marvel Cinematic Universe was created.

Over time, the trilogy stumbled a little in the ratings. The third part in particular, about Peter Parker and his excursion into the dark abyss of mediocre dance qualities, was not as well received as part 1 or part 2.

When did Spider-Man 3 come out?

2007 came along Spider Man 3 the last film in the series for the time being in the cinema. After a few years, the production of a fourth Raimi film was scrapped, even though the filmmaker recently appeared in the discourse surrounding the next Spider-Man film.

In the comeback of all previous Spider-Man films in US cinemas, part 3 was able to particularly shine. The approximately 17-year-old title was around in one day $760,000 play in.
