An entire saga to see before Furiosa

The theatrical release of Furiosa is certainly one of the major cinematographic events of this year 2024, and with good reason. If the release of the film marks the return of George Miller, it also marks the return to the filmmaker's roots who finally returns to his greatest masterpiece: the Mad Max saga.

Initiated at the end of the 70s, the Mad Max saga then features a young Mel Gibson in the title role for a post-apocalyptic film which will completely shake up the genre. Violent, chaotic and uncompromising, Mad Max will be entitled to two direct sequels and it is from the second film that the saga clearly grasps its artistic identity.

Years later, in 2015, Mad Max Fury Road was released, a reboot which is not really one, where we find the same character played this time by Tom Hardy. The result exceeds all fans' expectations: George puts all his know-how at the service of a mind-boggling blockbuster, a two-hour trip tinged with blood and chrome that never lets the viewer breathe.

Where to watch Mad Max movies?

Whether you're looking to learn more about the history of Mad Max or want to once again feel the thrill of this total cinematic experience before discovering Furiosa in theaters, there are several reasons to want to dive back into the Mad Max saga. The problem is that unless you own these films on Blu-Ray or DVD, it is rather complicated to watch them.

To date, no streaming platform has any of the Mad Max films in its catalog, with the exception of Canal+ via its MyCanal platform. Canal+ subscribers can now embark on a Mad Max marathon. For others, you will either have to subscribe, rent the films or buy them. Platforms like Prime Video or Apple TV+, for example, offer these films for rental for 2.99 euros or even for digital purchase with a price ranging between 4.99 euros and 7.99 euros. Note that whatever your choice, you can also opt for the Black & Chrome edition of Fury Road which is available for rental/purchase. Fury Road Black & Chrome is simply a black and white version of the film, another way to experience this masterpiece.
