What to do with the Flayer’s Egg in Fallout 4: The Devil’s Part

Before focusing on this famous moral choice, let's see how to start the quest “The Devil's Part” in Fallout 4. The first step will be to go to the Museum of Witchcraft which we have indicated to you more precisely on the map below.

Once there, you will find the body of Private Hart outside. Search it and you will get your hands on a holotape which you will then have to read using your Pip-boy. The quest “The Devil's Part” is launched and you will now be able to enter the museum.

To do this, simply take the trapdoor located next to it. Then move forward until you reach the floor and at that point, you will come face to face with a Flayer that you will have to kill. Attention, the fight can be complicated against the latter.

Once eliminated, continue your progress in the building and you will come across the famous Flayer egg, as well as a holotape. That's it, as you can imagine, the time has come to make a choice between two optionssell or return the egg.

Option 1: Return the Flayer Egg to its mother

Let's start with the more “good guy” option of the two, which is to return the egg you just found to the mother. For that, head to the north of the map and more precisely the place that we have indicated below to find the nest.

You will come across a Flayer, don't attack it! You will realize that the latter will do the same with you. Just put the egg back in the nestcollecting the Flayer's Claw, a unique weapon and quest experience along the way.

Option 2: Do not return the egg and deliver it to Wellingham

The second option is more mercantile, shall we say, since it requires you to go to Diamond City to find Wellingham there. Indeed, the latter offers to buy back the Flayer's egg from youagainst a nice reward of course.

This reward is, in addition to the mission experience which will be the same, 200 caps, as well as a recipe allowing you to prepare Flayer omelette for the rest of the game. So you quickly understand that the egg you just brought back will end up in the pan.

Option 3: Betray the Flayer and sell the egg at the end of the quest “The Devil's Share”

Finally, know that there is a third option for those who don't mind a little betrayal from time to time! Indeed, to begin with, follow the first option to the end to validate the quest by returning the Flayer egg to its mother. Then return to the nest.

There, prick the egg. Be careful, as you can imagine, the mother will not be a fan of the idea and will attack you. Once you kill her and collect the egg, you can go to Wellingham in Diamond City. So, you will be able to sell to him in addition to having previously collected the rewards from option 1!
