The announcement of the arrival of Star Wars Outlaws for August 30, 2024 was accompanied by tempting promises, including two narrative expansions via a Season Pass and various cosmetics, as revealed on the game's official website. However, something new has slipped into this already busy offer: an exclusive quest entitled “Jabba's Bet”, accessible as soon as the game is released. This paid addition quickly sparked controversy, prompting Ubisoft to clarify the secondary nature of this mission to players.

Ubisoft speaks out and defends its choice!

Asked by Eurogamera Ubisoft representative provided crucial clarification. “Jabba the Hutt and the Hutt Cartel are one of the main syndicates in Star Wars Outlaws and will be part of the experience for everyone who purchases the game, regardless of edition” he pointed out. So, don't panic! You will be able to find this cult character on August 30 without having to purchase the Season Pass. The mission “Jabba's Gambit” is presented as an additional optional mission, offering a deeper immersion into the world of the Hutt Cartel alongside the main characters, Kay and Nix. However, this clarification did not appease already disgruntled players, criticizing the presence of content initially planned in the base game.

A heavy bill to pay for a quest…

The community's anger is also being heard over the high cost of the Season Pass, which considerably increases the bill. To access this optional mission, players will have to pay a minimum of €109.99 for the Gold edition or €129.99 for the Ultimate edition. The Gold edition offers cosmetics, the Season Pass, as well as three days early access to the game. On the other hand, the Ultimate edition includes the same benefits as the Gold, with the added bonus of the “Elusive Infiltrator Pack” and the “Sabacc Ace Pack”, providing additional cosmetics. 5 months before its release, Ubisoft can still correct the situation and try to satisfy its players.
