As we learned last February, the Jurassic Park franchise, and more precisely the new saga called World, will return to cinemas next year and is currently in the process of assembling its cast. Approached after his appearance in Top Gun: Maverick and with his status as the new darling in Hollywood, this actor preferred to decline the offer, believing that he would not bring much to the film.

This Top Gun Maverick actor wants to be very careful about the roles he chooses

Since the release of Top Gun: Maverickthe world of Hollywood isn't just making eyes at Tom Cruise. Within this five-star castcertainly one of the reasons why Joseph Kosinski's feature film brought in so much at the box office, American cinema has found a new darling, and it is none other than the actor Glen Powell. Recently, he gave a long interview to members of the editorial staff of The Hollywood Reporter, discussing, among other things, his future projects. If he seems more than delighted to have shared the poster with Sydney Sweeney for the film Everything except you (Anyone but Youin original version), a romantic comedy which brought in five times its budget, he vowed not to choose just any project.

In a very specific passage from this interview, Glen Powell explains that he has as much in mind the films he wants to make as the feature films he wants to avoid at all costs. In this case, films that serve as bait for the Oscar ceremony or anything that directly or indirectly relates to the universe Marvel, he doesn't want it. Casually, the 35-year-old Texan actor has already carved out a solid reputation as a picky actor who does not agree to appear in anything and everything. It was also during this same interview that The Hollywood Reporter revealed that he had refused to join the cast… of the next Jurassic Park.

The next film Jurassic World faces rejections but still offers stars!

The film franchise Jurassic Park Although it was born in 1993, it nonetheless remains current since it saw a new trilogy in the mid-2010s, and until 2022, thanks to the opus Jurassic World, Fallen Kingdom And Dominion (The World After, in French). Last February, the universe imagined by Steven Spielberg came out of its torpor to reveal that a new opus of this saga, sold as being Jurassic World 4would see the light of day in July 2025 and would be directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla (2014), Rogue One, The Creator). Although the choice of this director was attractive, it did not convince Glen Powell who judged that his presence would not bring much to this film. More than its refusal, it is a somewhat divisive project, judging from the reaction of the actors.

Jurassic is one of my favorite films. It's one of the things I've wanted to do my whole life. I'm not doing this film because I read the script and I immediately said to myself that my presence in this film would not help it. The storyline is great. The film is going to be insane. That's not what it's about. It's about choosing where you're going to make the public happy and where you're going to make yourself happy. – Glen Powell at The Hollywood Reporter

In addition to Glen Powell, it seems that, according to recent rumors, that actress Jennifer Lawrence has also refused to join the cast of this fourth part. Regardless, this rejection would have benefited another strong Hollywood personality, namely Scarlett Johansson. Well-versed in blockbusters, the actress who played Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe saga is currently in negotiations with Universal to play one of the title roles.
