Japan has codes that are very different from ours. In Europe, although some stars are personalities representative of a few brands, in Japan, they are anime characters who are sometimes used!

In Europe, we use a lot of animated characters to promote products. Whether it's Nestlé and its cereals, Monsieur Propre or even advertisements for medicines, we use the unreal to sell. But on the other side of the globe, this idea is used more, while being much more advanced than us. This ad for… Try to guess what it's about before reading the rest of these lines.

The best episodes of One Piece?
After watching this short video, you will have understood that it is an ad for instant noodles. Hungry Days has actually formed a partnership with this legendary anime! That said, one might believe that this only happened once, and that the price of the partnership, unknown to the general public, was too important for a second ad to see the light of day. In fact, the ad worked so well in Japan that there is more than just a second commercial. In total, no less than four animations are available on the internet. Released between May 2019 and February 2020, the episodes are a real success. Whether in terms of animation, choice of colors, story, reference or even in terms of marketing, the company is a total success. We do not have precise figures, but success can be represented by the number of views on Youtube and social networks. The musical partnership that followed with Bump of chicken speaks volumes about this success. If this name doesn't mean anything to you, they are an extremely well-known J-pop group in Japan. They have notably created music for Detective Conan, Final Fantasy and Pokémon.
Touching stories
Each of the animations presents the story of an iconic character or an important event from One Piece. These stories are sprinkled with references to the work which make you smile since they are presented here in a much lighter context: the life of a simple high school student. These four episodes are called “One Piece: Youth”, obviously representing the teenage youth that our heroes could have had if they had not been born in a world of pirates. The first three episodes tell us the story of Zoro, Vivi and Nami. All three are simple high school students, but the sublime images that pass before our eyes remind us of anime. Zoro faces Dracule Mihawk in Kendo, but fails. However, his opponent orders him to become stronger. Here, the noodles will give it strength!
Vivi is new to the school, and gets along very well with everyone, but we understand that she unfortunately has to leave since she takes the train with a melancholic air. Except that she receives a video of the “crew”, each with a bowl of noodles in their hands, pointing towards the sky. The adaptation of the symbolic scene from Alabasta represents the bonds of friendship that arise from the meals we share with those who are dear to us. And finally, Nami works in a restaurant to earn money, studies day and night to make her dream come true, in short, she has a busy life. Unfortunately, it's not always easy to have so many things to do at the same time. The noodles offered by Luffy will give him the courage to continue moving forward! The fourth video uses one of the most beloved arcs in all of One Piece: Marine Ford. No need to tell you about its content, since it is the video present at the beginning of this paper.
