The Triple-i Initiative, a showcase by indies for indies – News

“Triple I” is a popular industry term to describe indie games with high production quality and high aspirations. Think Hades (and the work of Supergiant Games in general). Triple-i Initiative therefore wishes to put forward its projects, in a collegial manner, without editorial interference or advertising breaks with The Rock and other idiosyncracies of the Game Awards (or similar). It all starts from an idea from the studio Evil Empire, responsible for Dead Cells for the last five years. “The goal is to produce a conference that is straight to the point, full of announcements, and speaks directly to the players, those who have supported us since day one. […] No sketches, no ads, no sponsors, no frills, just games“, describes Benjamin Laulan, chief operating officer from Evil Empire.

The Triple-i Initiative is supported by big names in the indie scene, like Re-Logic (Terraria) and Mega Crit (Slay the Spire). French roots oblige, the showcase invites quite a few French projects to show their progress. We can expect to see the hack 'n slash Ravenswatch from Villeurbanne Passtech Games, with an overview of the Avalon chapter; the Lille team from Ishtar Games (ex-The CCCP) will come and present the new content of The Last Spell; Evil Empire itself is expected to present its post-Dead Cells projects (now that Motion Twin has signaled the end of the follow-up and the end of their collaboration).

Outside our beautiful borders, the showcase will bring together developers and publishers from around the world, from the United States to China to Australia. Among the big names, we find Heart Machine (Hyper Light Drifter), Gearbox Publishing (which will probably defend the Risk of Rain franchise and Homeworld 3), the Swedish Stunlock Studios (which is preparing to release V Rising) as well as the growing publisher Hooded Horse Games (building on the success of Against the Storm). And that's just a part of the list. Around forty studios will be present.

The Triple-i Initiative showcase will meet us on April 10 at 7:00 p.m. French time on all good streaming platforms (Youtube, Twitch, bilibili). THE official website will be gradually updated as we approach the fateful date. You can find all the studios and publishers involved below:
