The Relentless Task of Buying and Furnishing a House

In No Rest for the Wicked you can buy your own house and furnish it the way you want. You can find out here what you have to do and what options you have for furnishing your own home.

How can I buy a house?

In order to be able to buy your own house in No Rest for the Wicked, you first have to overcome a rocky path. First you should reach the capital Sacrament. To do this, defeat the boss Warrick the Divided at the end of the Orban Swamps.

Then continue to follow the main story and Completes the mission “Of Rats and Robbers”., at the end of which you have to finish off Falstead Darak in the Black Tunnels. Once you have defeated him and spoken to Winnick, you will receive the message “Housing unlocked” as a quest reward.

However, you don't just get a house as a gift. You have to purchase it. In Sacrament you can choose between three different houses:

The Nest for 20 SilverThe Homestead for 25 SilverThe Mansion for 30 Silver

All houses will be marked on the map. So you don't have to search the city for them first. Once you have decided on a house, the choice is not final. You can sell it again at the sign in front of the entrance or you can buy the other two houses instead.

Set up your own home in No Rest for the Wicked

Whichever of the houses you choose, it will be completely empty when you first enter. You must personally provide furniture and other furnishings.

If you want to make weapons, armor or potions yourself, you can talk to Danos in the main square of the city. The master craftsman offers the following equipment for sale:

Anvil: Manufacture of weapons and armor.Alchemy table: Making potions and elixirs.Sewing table: Manufacture of cloth and reader armor.Workbench: Manufacture of furniture and structures.Stove: Preparation of meals.Melting furnace: Manufacture of ingots.Sawmill: Production of wooden planks.Spinning wheel: Production of threads and fabrics.Tanning frame: Production of hides and leather.

You need recipes to get started with one of these devices. Otherwise, they will cost you unnecessary space in your inventory or in the house without any functionality. Go to the menu and select “Known Scrolls” to find out what recipes you already have.

If you don't want to make your own furnishings, you can also purchase them. Whittacker offers dressers, tables, chests and more for sale down in the town's marketplace. Upgrade Whittacker's store at Danos to expand its inventory.

To finally set up your house, open your inventory and go to the item tab. Here you will find all the furniture that you have bought or made. Now press “use” to place the item in the house. Don't worry: If you want to move furnishings later, you can do so without any problems.
