Complicated father-son relationship
Released in 2023, Spiderman Across the Spider-verse followed the first film of 2018. And for those who have entered the universe of Miles Morales, there is a subject that must have caught your eye: the relationship that the young superhero has with his father. This is the point supported by the short film available for free on YouTube and entitled: The Spider Within: A Spider-verse story. It presents Miles who is not really in his right mood and who avoids his father, preferring to take refuge alone in his room. A complicated situation which will lead him to see frightening images leading him to a deep discussion with his father. A beautiful metaphor for father-son relationships. They can sometimes be tense and it is often discussion that is the best solution.
A perfectly transcribed nightmare
Obviously, this 7-minute video offers animation quality of the same level as the feature films released in the cinema. We find the same color palettes and the same writing as in the other productions, but with a fairly original appearance. A rare horrific side for Spider-Man that we notice when Miles lies in his bed. His head is full of bad thoughts and is experiencing one of the most terrifying things anyone can experience: sleep paralysis. A clone of him stands at the foot of his bed, with glowing yellow eyes on a body colored entirely black. The latter then transforms into a giant spider, to give birth to lots of small arachnids which cover the body of our hero.
