Blood still runs through the veins of Baldur's Gate 3

Having returned from its trip to London for the BAFTA ceremony, where Baldur's Gate 3 was showered with awards, Larian Studios got back to work. Via its traditional Community Update, the Belgian independent studio reveals the rest of the program. And even if no DLC or sequel is expected, the game still has some great things in store for us. Starting with patch 7, the next major patch for GOTY 2023, expected within a few weeks.

As indicated before, this will pay particular attention to the ends on the evil side. Whether you're playing Dark Impulses or just an evil character, this major patch should fill you with san… joy! To illustrate his words, Larian Studios shared a small preview of what will happen soon. Be careful however, the article dedicated to Community Update available in particular on the Steam page of Baldur's Gate 3 may contain important SPOILERS. Sensitive souls should therefore definitely abstain. These new cutscenes will also be accompanied by a new musical composition by the brilliant Borislav Slavov. Listen with pleasure below, but also potentially at your own risk.

In addition to this new content, Patch 7 of Baldur's Gate 3 will also bring its share of fixes. It will finally include another feature that will please absolutely all players, and not just the most Machiavellian: official mod support! Modders will soon be able to have fun creating creations that will only be limited by their talent and imagination. All of this can also be tested in advance soon on PC via a closed beta.

What’s next on the agenda for Larian Studios?

This all sounds like a sort of parting gift to Baldur's Gate 3 fans, though, don't you think? The Community Update was unfortunately an opportunity for the studio to confirm its future plans, which therefore do not include Dungeons & Dragons. Larian Studios indicates that it loves its independence above all else. Something that is not possible when working for a publisher, whether it is Wizards of the Coast or another.

Swen Vincke, director of the happy Belgian studio, however had a reassuring message to send to fans. “ I don't know if we'll make it, but given what we're planning, I think our next game will be our best creation yet. I'm excited like a kid looking at our first sketches. I want to show them to everyone, but it's still too early. Yes, I'm hyped, because it smells really good “. We're obviously willing to take his word for it and also look forward to learning more. Good luck, Larian Studios, and thanks again for everything.
